Fundraiser to Help With Old Bridge Man’s Medical Expenses

On July 28, 2021, Darren Hussey was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. He was rushed to the RWJ Trauma center with a traumatic brain injury and needed an emergency craniectomy so he might live. He was in ICU for weeks on a ventilator in critical condition before he was transferred to JFK rehabilitation center, the same rehab center Tracy Morgan went to for his brain injury.

Darren has made great progress in the last few weeks, and this week he will be having the second surgery to replace the portion of his skull that was removed (Cranioplasty).

Darren’s path to recovery will be a long journey and it will require home health care that is not covered by insurance. Unfortunately, the woman that hit him had minimum auto insurance and is impoverished herself so there will not be any lawsuit to help with these costs.

If you are able to help financially, please consider donating to this official fund and help Darren on his path to recovery. This money will be used to cover the cost of home health care and any other support needed to ensure his recovery. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

On behalf of Darren and our family, we thank you and appreciate your thoughtfulness during this very difficult time. We ask you to keep Darren in your thoughts and prayers. I believe your Prayers have worked miracles. Thank you.
