This year’s Universal Health Fair brings food, music and much more, in efforts to raise awareness about natural health practices and medicine. This event will take place on September 24th from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., on the Newton “Green” and down Spring Street.
The Tree of Health Center’s (TTOHC) Universal Health Fair is an opportunity for the community to learn about different cultures’ healing and spirituality in one harmonious setting, and the event is open to everyone – free of charge. While bringing together natural practices and medicines from all around the world, this event also supports Newton’s local merchants and offers the community an uplifting and fun event.
“We are delighted to be able help educate our community members on natural healing practices from around the world,” said Debra M. Hollinrake, a Partner with TTOHC and expert in Emotional Freedom Techniques. “There is much more we can do on a personal level to keep ourselves naturally healthy. But we can’t do that if we don’t know how! This fair is intended to raise awareness and empower individuals through education, compassion and lots of free hugs.”
Vendors include Svetlana Designs, Project Self Sufficiency, Hadley’s Earth Crystals, Family Partners of Morris & Sussex Counties, Mudjestic Skincare, Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council, It Works!, Happy Horoscopes, Sussex County Food Co-Op, The Village Shaman, Comprehensive Therapeutic Services, and many more.
Sponsors include Between the Bread, Amore Bakery & Café, McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac, Freehand Custom Carving, Ideal Farm & Garden and Tri-State Rentals.
Another opportunity to be involved includes donating to the Universal Children’s Fund (UCF). A portion of the fair’s proceeds from vendors and sponsors goes to the UCF. This fund enables children to release stress and express their creativity through artful educational programs in schools preK-12. Attendees will have a their own chance to donate to this worthy cause in UCF receptacles located throughout the fair.
A town crier will keep attendees informed throughout the day about live entertainment including musicians, drumming, meditation, Zumba, a peace circle, face painting and mixed martial arts. There will also be plenty of food from local merchants, along with intriguing cultural exhibits.
“TTOHC is proud to bring the Universal Health Fair for the second year in a row to the county seat of Sussex County,” says Linda Mitchell, founder of TTOHC and expert in CranioSacral Therapy. “It’s a FREE and FUN event for ALL ages, and a great way to learn more about our own potential, and how to become and remain healthy and happy — from the inside out.”
TTOHC is still accepting vendor and sponsor applications for this year’s fair. For more information, visit http://Tree-Health-Universal-Health-Fair.
