The concerts and organization grew from a birthday party/fund-raiser held in 1998 for artist manager and music industry veteran Bob Benjamin, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1996
Scheduled performers include The Ventures, Steve Forbert, Albert Lee and Band, Popa Chubby, Willie Nile and Band, Jesse Malin, James Maddock and Band, Jeffrey Gaines, Marc Ribler’s Red, White & Brit Tribute to The Who (featuring members of Little Steven’s Disciples of Sou), Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers, The Weeklings, John Eddie, Remember Jones, Williams Honor, Bruce Tunkel, Joe D’Urso and Stone Caravan, Christine Martucci, Nalani & Sarina, Taylor Tote, Pat Guadagno, and the Billy Walton Band.
The festival has gained notoriety for surprise appearances by Bruce Springsteen in more than half its 18 years, with the most recent appearance in 2015.
