About 4.9 million bottles of Fabuloso products have been recalled. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, some Fabuloso cleaning products were recalled Wednesday over a risk of bacteria contamination.
According to a statement released by company officials, the voluntary recall was due to a preservative was not added at the intended levels during manufacturing. With inadequate preservatives, there is a risk of bacteria growth in the recalled products of Pseudomonas species bacteria which are environmental organisms found widely in soil and water.
The company advised that people with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions who are exposed to the bacteria face a risk of severe infection that may require medical treatment.
Officials say the bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria.
The recall, conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, encompasses 4.9 million bottles produced from December 14, 2022, through January 23, 2023, when the manufacturing issue was corrected.
“We greatly value the trust that our consumers and their families have in our Fabuloso® products. We remain committed to maintaining the highest level of product quality and have taken action to help ensure we live up to those standards”, a company official said.
Fabuloso® Antibacterial multi-purpose cleaning products and other variants of Fabuloso® multi-purpose cleaning products are not included in this recall.

The impacted batches will have a manufacturing (lot) code where the first 8 digits begin with 2348US78 through 2365US78 and 3001US78 through 3023US78.
Any product with a lot code containing a “MX” is not part of the recall and is safe to use.
