While a lot of people might think hard rock music and charity work is an unusual combination, the Rock Against Dystrophy organization proves that its fans believe that all individuals deserve the attention and dedication which will one day ensure that they have long and healthy lives.

Rock Against Dystrophy had been spotlighted on the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, and used to feature appearances by RAD’s founders, Turbo and Jay Scorpion, when they were children. Though these twin brothers live their lives with spinal muscular atrophy, it has never stopped them from advancing either their eight-year-old Bullspike Radio Internet show, or the work of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Turbo and Jay Scorpion’s Rock Out To Knock Out Muscular Dystrophy benefits have been seen in many venues in the New Jersey and New York City areas. For 2018, their sixth concert for the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be held at the Brighton Bar in Long Branch New Jersey on Sunday Aug. 26.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is leading the fight to free individuals — and those who love them — from the harm of muscle-debilitating and life-threatening diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life.

Every year, 35,000 kids and adults receive treatment at MDA’s nationwide network of more than 150 MDA Care Centers, including 44 MDA ALS Care Centers — click here for the ones in New Jersey. There, we provide comprehensive, expert care from neuromuscular disease specialists in one place at one time. MDA also provides annual occupational, physical, respiratory and speech therapy consultations.
