The Summit Medical Group Foundation will conduct its annual Gala at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at The Grove, 691 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. For his 25 years of healthcare leadership, the foundation will be honoring Jeffery Le Benger, M.D., chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Summit Medical Group and Summit Health Management.
Dr. Le Benger is the recipient of the MDx Medical, Inc. “Patients Choice” award and is featured in the New Jersey Family “NJ’s Favorite Kids’ Docs” listing. He has been recognized as a New Jersey Monthly “Top Doctor” for the last five consecutive years.
Under Le Benger’s leadership in 2014, Summit Medical Group also created Summit Health Management, a new management services company. The new venture offers an entrepreneurial model of management services to physician practices across the United States.
Le Benger earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed residencies at Mount Sinai Medical Center in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery, earning him medical board certifications. He has achieved fellowship status with the American College of Surgeons, American Rhinologic Society and American Society of Head and Neck Surgery. He has also been nominated for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year and is a nominee for the 2015 NJBiz Healthcare Hero award.
Hosted by Andy Cohen, executive producer and host of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, the evening will feature musical guest Laura Bell Bundy. With cocktails, dinner, and a live auction, “We are looking forward to an exciting and inspiring event,” says Rebecca Levy, SMGF Gala committee co-chair. ”The funds raised from this event will be used to support the long-term benefit of educating the next generation of health care professionals, and to promoting health and wellness in areas of New Jersey where access to comprehensive health care is diminished or unavailable.”
Founded in 2013, the Summit Medical Group Foundation’s mission is to enrich community members through health promotion, medical research and medical education. In its first year of operation, the foundation launched its Next Generation Careers in Medicine program, inspiring students from area high schools to become the next generation of medical professionals. Future plans include orchestrating Summit Medical Group specialists to volunteer and provide medical care in underserved areas.
