The Nutley Farmers Market is known for its local food, entertainment and events, such as special recycling days, Food Fests, Eco-Fests, and Civic and School Pride Days. The 2016 season kicks off Market Walk & Talk to help patrons get fit and informed during their weekly visit.
Every Sunday from June 12 through Oct. 30, Public Affairs Commissioner Steven Rogers and Mayor and Public Works Commissioner Joseph Scarpelli invite walkers to join a leader for a one-hour loop through Nutley parks. During the walk, participants can ask the leader questions within his or her expertise in an informal setting.
Walkers will meet at the Farmers Market at 8:15 a.m., walk from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Some of the 2016 leaders include interior designer Tracey Stephens; bike/pedestrian safety specialist Elizabeth Brady; employment lawyer Kirsten Branigan; author Christina Surretsky; physical therapist Dr. Alexandra Kass; and artists/poets Amy Tingle and Maya Stein.

Market Walk & Talk
is funded in part by a grant to the Nutley Department of Health from Partners for Health Foundation. Their mission is to make our communities healthier, better places to live. It has provided grant funding to other Nutley initiatives, including our Yantacaw Walks, Walker Walks, Nutley Pace Car and Nutley Community Garden.
The Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays from mid-June through October in Municipal Parking Lot 1 at William Street, on the east side of Franklin Avenue.
