Free Health Screenings Among Services for Homeless And Low-Income at Newark Wellness Fairs

On September 9, the City of Newark will team up with Catholic Charities and Community Services of Paterson and Bridges Outreach of Summit  to present IMPACT Day for the homess in Newark’s Lincoln Park on Friday September 9 from 10AM – 3PM.
IMPACT stands for Impossible Made Possible Advancing Communities Together, and will feature vendors and organizations offering not only free health screenings, but school supplies, food, help with finding resources that can help, even free hair care!

Founded in 1988, Bridges Outreach strives to connect with the homeless in New York City, Newark, Irvington, and Summit, New Jersey every week. Over 2,000 volunteers each year help deliver 65,000 meals, seasonal clothing, and necessities without question and with genuine respect.

Register for free breast and vascular screenings, receive nutrition information about diabetes management and have your blood pressure tested at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Greenhouse Health and Wellness Festival! Participate in a number of workshops and exercise activities, including Zumba, line dancing and fitness sessions throughout the afternoon of September 17.
The fair will be held rain or shine on Osborne Terrace, which will be closed off to vehicular traffic on the day of the event.
