Whether you are an organic gardening newbie or an experienced gardener, the Organic Gardening Course for Food Production will provide you with skills and information for making a great garden.
This training, offered by the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey, will teach how to improve and prepare your soil and how to plant crops from spring through fall. Discover how to manage weeds, diseases, insects and critters using time-tested methods.
Instructor Al Johnson has farmed and gardened organically for 40 years. The course will be offered 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority Recycling Center, 6700 Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Township.
The fee is $30 for Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey members; $40 nonmembers. Lunch is provided at no extra cost: Walk-ins are welcome.

Parker at Monroe Adult Day Center is a not-for-profit organization committed to supporting caregivers of older adults. To learn more about caregiving and connect with peers, there will be a Caregiver Conference held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 13 at 200 Overlook Dr., Monroe Township.
Feature presentations will be from: Geriatrician Dr. Fred Kobylarz of Monroe RWJ Hospital on the importance of the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit as it relates to memory loss; Jason Alguram on legal issues relating to long-term care planning; and John Dulog, an occupational therapist, will review home safety strategies and fall prevention tips.
