Jammin’ for Jaclyn is an annual benefit concert with one goal: to help those in our are who are fighting cancer.
Each year the event aids 2 local cancer patients: this year’s beneficiaries are Christina Davis and Carl Palestrini. Jammin’ For Jaclyn also honors the memory of Michael Squillace’s sister Jaclyn, who bravely fought the disease.
Jammin’ for Jaclyn is founded and organized by Ron and Denise Morgan and local musician Michael Squillace. The benefit concert returns to the Knights Of Columbus 2061, located at 775 Washington Road in Sayreville (Parlin) 08859 on Saturday, April 27.
The event features a 50/50 drawing, and door prizes. Admission is a minimum donation of $25, and includes a complimentary hot and cold buffet from over 50 eateries and a cash bar. The event is scheduled for 3:30 pm to midnight.
Joining Michael Squillace in performing live will be John Walsh, Patsy Palma, Levy Okun of Levy & The Oaks, Amber Morgan, Jake Tavill And Indigo Soul, The FOG, Rocco & The MOB, Nick Ryan Band, and the Taylor Tote Band.
Next Tuesday trough Thursday at 11:30 pm, Squillace will call in to WRAT The Rat Rocks Radio 95.9 Jersey Rock show, and you’ll hear from a different act performing at the benefit each night. On Tuesday we’ll rock a track from Jake Tavill And Indigo Soul. Wednesday night we’ll crank a tune from Nick Ryan. On Thursday night we’ll close out the week with a brand new single from the Taylor Tote Band.

More than 100 people gave support to the second annual John Bocskocsky Memorial Event, hosted for the second time by Deb Fabricatore, who lost her brother John Bocskocsky to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The event benefits organizations such as HARK-ALS, a national non-profit dedicated to providing family and patient care assistance along with financial and logistical resources for people with ALS (pALS).
A silent auction was held at the event, which included an array of donations from the Applebee’s of Hillsborough, JLM Financial of Bridgewater, Sourland Cycles Hopewell, Northfield Bank, and Wegman’s. Live music was donated by James Popick of Hopewell and Alex Otey of Ewing.
The Event took place at the Falcon’s Nest in Hillsborough, with state, county and local officials in attendance. Also on hand was the Hopewell Valley Central High School robotics team, who encouraged the idea of collaboration with the robotics community to develop projects of benefit to people with ALS.
