SOMERVILLE: Ryan Zamorsky, 31, A former gym teacher at the Van Derveer School has voluntarily surrendered his state teaching license after pleading guilty to aggravated criminal sexual contact.
According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, authorities on Aug. 18, 2019, were notified of a possible sexual assault in Hillsborough on the overnight of Aug. 17-18.
Detectives from the county’s Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit interviewed the victim, an adult, who reported she was sleeping and awoke to Zamorsky sexually assaulting her. The victim immediately informed a family member of the incident, and it was then reported to the police.
Zamorsky pleaded guilty to the third-degree felony on Jan. 5, which in New Jersey carry a potential sentence of up to five years in state prison. On Jan. 22, the Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education voted to accept Zamorsky’s surrender of his license.
A standout baseball player at Somerville High School, Zamorsky was also a pitcher at Kean University. He is scheduled to be sentenced in Superior Court on March 24.
BOUND BROOK: A 48-year-old Hudson County man is accused of attempted sexual assault of a 14-year-old as a result of an online investigation by the FBI and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
Dave Adamovic, of North Bergen is facing charges of second-degree attempted sexual assault, attempted luring, attempted manufacturing of child pornography, third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child and promotion of scene material to a person under 18 years of age, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson announced.
In October 2020 Adamovic allegedly began chatting on various online platforms with an undercover detective whom he believed to be 14 years old.
Adamovic’s chats allegedly became sexual in nature and he allegedly arranged to travel to meet the undercover detective on Feb. 5 to engage in sexual intercourse. Upon arriving to meet with the person who he believed was the 14-year-old, he was taken into custody without incident.
