It’s not too late to lend support to children’s cancer awareness by symbolically joining 95.9 WRAT radio personality Gotts, who has been living atop a 30-foot billboard to help raise funds.
He’s situated inside the Lowes/Target parking lot of 1331 Hooper Ave in Tom’s River. Since September 20 and throughout today, September 23, the public is invited to stop by to make a donation to the children’s cancer charity Ocean of Love.
Dedicated to helping the children of Ocean County children with cancer, Ocean of Love assists the children and their families through their illness. This group offers financial assistance and help with coping and bereavement to both parents and siblings. Babysitting is provided in-house so parents can attend monthly meetings without the stress of leaving children home.
Most important, Ocean Of Love strives to provide as much of the experience of the “normal” joys of childhood as possible, because their lives are significant and meaningful to each and every one of us. Each penny raised during the event will go towards providing financial assistance and emotional support for the children and families involved with Ocean of Love.
Since Sept. 20, Gotts has been kept company by the likes of the Bayville Elks on motorcycles, the Ocean Country 4H club, the Force Fitness gym, and musical performers like Matt O’Ree. During his last day today, Tom’s River Emergency Services and the Jersey Shore Mopar Club are scheduled to visit.
“I’m honored to be part of this great cause — no one, especially children – should have to fight cancer alone,” says Gotts.
“I’m here to tell everyone: we’re fighting for you! Please come out and support the effort and we’ll blow the doors off the top of this billboard for Ocean of Love!”
If you can’t drop by the billboard site to donate to Ocean of Love, for children with cancer, you an also do so online.
