Brick NJ: MA Deuce Deuce KickiT Workout Veterans Benefit

Source: MA22.org

Marine veterans John Cohen and Dennis Addesso decided to start their own organization to make successful post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) recovery programs known. They teamed up with local Marine Tom Kiselow to founded Ma Deuce Deuce (Ma22).

The name is derived from the M2 .50 Caliber machine gun, “Ma Deuce”, combined with the scariest number in America, “22” — the number of veteran suicides in America daily. They quickly became a hub to connect veterans with restorative resources at no cost to them. One common objective is to help restore the hearts of veterans facing depression, anxiety, stress and isolation, suicidal thoughts and trauma from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Our initiatives include taking veterans to Lakewood BlueClaws minor league baseball games to prevent isolation and to provide a recreational setting to lead the conversation toward how we can further help. Other outlets include fishing, kayaking, SCUBA, horseback riding, hunting, exotic car rides, helicopter/small aircraft rides. We have teamed up local kickboxing fitness gym 9ROUND in Brick, NJ, who has donated free memberships for veterans and their families. We have also assisted in helping vets with utility bills and repairs to their vehicles.

For 2022, come join us by April 29 for a 30-minute workout at 9ROUND and raise funds and awareness of the daily veteran suicide epidemic. After registering, your name will appear on our donation link on our Web paged allowing friends and family to contribute on your behalf. Once registered, share your fundraising link EVERYWHERE! Mom, dad, sister, brother, coworkers — every dollar counts!

Operation Kick iT is a GET FIT not HIT kind of event. You will have a 15-minute briefing on basic kickboxing moves prior to entering the gym. Once inside 9ROUND, trainers and volunteers will guide you through a nine-station circuit workout. Each station is 3 minutes long and there’s a 30-second active rest in between each station. You’ll complete the entire workout in 30 minutes. Anyone 12 and older can participate, no one is too old or too out-of-shape to join in on the FUN!

$29.00 is the suggested donation; but any contribution is welcome. Any offline contributions need to have the participants name and Kick iT in the memo. Donations can be added offline, but will need to be received by April 23rd in order to be tallied in time for the top 3 fundraising rewards.

Please register by April 29 at our official Web page through Fundrazr.com, and you can email Dennis Addesso at daddesso @ ma22 . org for more details.
