This post isn’t easy to write but it needs to be done to update everyone to understand where things are at.
Prior to Covid and the medication Evrysdi, last year was the one that was supposed to make things a bit better for me long term.
I am a very active individual though I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Unfortunately my disability is one that gets more severe over time and if you become inactive for long periods of time it gets even worse.
Because Covid forced me indoors for over 2 years I lost the mobility I needed to drive my wheelchair outside my home. Because of the damage done by Evrysdi last year I lost strength and more mobility. Everything came to a head last week when I went to see Iron Maiden in concert.
You all know how excited I was for the show. But unfortunately by the time we got to our seats my body was done for the day because my body isn’t holding energy like it did. MamaTurbo had to rush us home before the concert even started. I’m even on meds because I had difficulty breathing and might have a bug.
What does this mean? Well it means my days of going out are over until my body maybe returns to being able to. It also means I need to watch what I do.
My focus is to continue as a disabled content creator. I am determined to have my community achieve the next level which is partner. And yes I said community because no content creator — disabled or abled — makes it without their community.
I’m determined to represent the disabled community in content creation and the highest level possible because there isn’t enough disabled representation anywhere. I will continue with games I can play on my own or with help from MamaTurbo or others if needed.
I’m going to try to get back on a consistent schedule but please understand that if I cancel stream last minute it’s because I’m physically unable to. I’ll try to change games to a game with help playing if I can before just cancelling.
So to sum up. I had a major health issue, I’m OK, and I’m NOT GIVING UP! Thank you for the continued support and let’s #TurnItUp!
