South Jersey Cancer Fund announces its second annual Zumba Party 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Brigantine Community Center.
This charity event kicks off October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month and provides a positive, healthy way to support the fight against breast cancer.
The afternoon features music, door prizes, raffle baskets and more. Participants will dance for about two hours while learning Zumba moves. Local Brigantine Zumba instructor Marisela Dellinger has volunteered her time to lead participants with dance moves to this high-energy music.
“Zumba is designed to increase physical strength and endurance, while dancing and having a blast doing it. Dance a little, dance a lot. Come on out and enjoy the fun,” Dellinger said in a press release.
Mary Crane, SJCF President, said the outpouring of donations from the Brigantine community has been overwhelming.
“They believe in us and have shown it through their generous contributions. We plan to ensure that each business is recognized for helping us in the fight against breast cancer in our local community,” she said.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Cost for the event is $20 for adults and $15 for children younger than 12. All participants will receive a free T-shirt. All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the South Jersey Cancer Fund.
Water and healthy snacks will be provided to all participants. For information, contact Mary Crane at 321-749-6749 or marycrane46@comcast.net.
