Empire Cares, the non-profit charitable division of Hoboken-based Empire Realty, is hosting a Cystic Fibrosis Gala Friday, Sept. 12 at the W Hotel, located at 225 River St.
Nicholas Costantino, the founder of Empire Realty, recently shared his diagnosis of cystic fibrosis and will be the guest of honor at the gala to celebrate while giving back to the people who have helped him.
The gala, which will run from 7 to 11 p.m., will benefit CF Cares, a non-profit affiliated with Beth Israel Hospital that supports patients and their families in the search for a cure.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that particularly affects the lungs and digestive system.
“I’m incredibly grateful that people are willing to come out and support what is obviously a very personal cause for me,” said Costantino. “And knowing that whatever funds we raise will go towards making other CF patients’ lives as fulfilling, comfortable and kick-ass as mine continues to be is why we’re doing this – we’re just trying to give a little back.”
Guests can expect a night of food and dancing, complete with a cocktail hour featuring some of Hoboken’s favorite restaurants and wine/liquor merchants.
A silent auction will take place as well to benefit those with the genetic disorder.
