Affiliated Foot & Ankle Center, 4645 Route 9 north, Howell, is looking to expand education for children and parents about primary foot and ankle conditions in children and adolescents. They will be conducting complimentary foot and ankle exams for children of all ages at the office on Oct. 8 from noon to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
If your child exhibits signs of in-toeing, heel pain, flat feet, ingrown toenails, plantar warts, pain or tiredness of the feet or legs, limping, falling or tripping, stop by for a free exam. For more information, call 732-604-3230.


The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital will host a children’s clothing fashion show to benefit its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 30, at the Hyatt Regency, 2 Albany St., New Brunswick. Tickets are $65 for adults and teens and $45 for children 12 and younger. Past NICU graduates ages 2 to 17 years will serve as models. The theme of the 2016 fashion show is “Twinkle Twinkle NICU Star!

r is offering a free, six-week diabetes self-management workshop for people with pre-diabetes, diabetes, and their caregivers, on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 14 through Oct. 19, from 6-8:30 p.m. at CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main St., Freehold.
The workshop includes weekly group education sessions, support from peers and take-home materials. Participants will be provided with the tools and support they need to deal with the physical and emotional symptoms of diabetes, as well as useful tips on healthy eating, reducing stress, relaxation techniques and setting attainable health goals.
