Project Sleep was thrilled to present a live webcast performance by Kendall Patrick and the Headless Bettys for its Sleep In 2015 benefit. On March 8th 2015 at 6pm PST/9pm EST on Google Hangout, they rocked out with other participants from all around the world who had spent 12 to 48 hours in bed over the weekend of of March 6, 2015 to promote sleep health and sleep disorder awareness.
Singer-songwriter Kendall Patrick (above, center), accompanied by (l-r) Ameila Thomas (trumpet), Paul Cimolini (bass), Caleb Burness (drums), and Lena Birtistle (keyboards), have a cool sound that blends folk, pop, and rock. sleepinByCiro Kendall recently posted on her official website: “I tip my hat to every effort made by people living with narcolepsy to spread awareness, advocate for themselves, and for all others who struggle with sleep related conditions.”
That’s because the band’s manager, Ciro Di Ruocco, lives with narcolepsy — you can read an interview with him about it and his involvement with the event. He designed the official Sleep In 2015 T-shirt (available at Etsy) which will be awarded to the top three fundraisers and top the top three Sleep Spirit participants.
Participants were invited register and up fundraising sponsorship by themselves or other. All were welcome to the other SleepIn2015 events, which included an Instagram flash mob and a Twitter chat, and were provided with some ideas on how to pass the time while in bed — what, you thought they were expected to spend between 12 and 48 hours sleeping in?
