Tai Chi Chih (“Joy through movement”) is a moving meditation practice that helps activate, balanceand circulate the body’s natural energy (Chi). It is not a martial art, but a tool for self-healing and health for mind, body, and spirit.
“Tai Chi Chih is softness in action, like the bamboo that bends gracefully before the wind and does not break.”
~ Justin Stone
Considered as a moving meditation because of its calming effect on mind, body, spirit, and the release of tension throughout the body. The coupling of movement and stillness has a powerful effect in balancing the yin and yang of the chi (energy). Once the outer form is learned the practice often moves inward promoting a journey of self-discovery and transformation both physically and emotionally.
Health benefits may include increased energy, fitness and stamina, improved balance, mental clarity and emotional balance, lowered blood pressure through the reduction of excess stress.
The fee for all eight classes is $100.00 payable at time of registration. Unless otherwise arranged, registration for the class will not be considered complete until registration form and fee are returned before the start of the first class.
Tai Chi Chih has been endorsed by the Mayo Clinic, The Arthritis Foundation, and National Institutes of Health, among others.
