“Be Bold — Get Cold!”
‘Tis the season for thousands of brave New Jerseyans to take those words to heart and take a VERY quick dip into the Jersey Shore’s icy Atlantic Ocean. But they’ll be Freezin’ For A Reason!
The Polar Bear Plunges are a great way for everyone – individuals, teams, organizations and businesses – to get involved in supporting Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ), a not-for-profit organization that provides sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. All funds raised go towards programming and events for thousands of athletes statewide.
Here’s how to register (or donate online, if that would make you feel “cool”-er) for one of the SONJ 2022-23 Polar Bear Plunge events:
Thanks4Giving 5K Turkey Dash & Splash: (November 19, 2022), Asbury Park
The 2022-23 Plunge season kicks off this November with Thanks4Giving. This event serves up a 5K run on the Asbury Park boardwalk, and is garnished with a Turkey Splash where participants take a plunge into the Atlantic Ocean!
Polar Bear Plunges: Wildwood (January 14, 2023); Seaside Heights (February 25, 2023)
The Polar Bear Plunges are so much more than an icy dip into the Atlantic Ocean. Special Olympics New Jersey provides year-round sports training, competition, leadership opportunities, and health screenings to thousands of athletes.
All of these programs and services are always completely FREE thanks to these events that really put the “fun” in fundraising!
