Peace Aging Care Experts President and Principal Care Manager Trish Colucci, RN-BC, will address United Way of Northern New Jersey’s Caregivers Coalition on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center, 60 North Jefferson Road, Whippany, NJ at 9:30 am.
Trish’s talk, titled “When, Where and How: Building Confidence in Making the Nursing Home Decision for Your Loved One” and the Q&A that follows, will support and inform unpaid family caregivers who are caring for an aging loved one locally or at a distance.
With a focus on building caregiver confidence, Trish will bring clarity, empathy, and a dash of humor as she demystifies a frequently complicated and emotionally charged topic. Trish, an RN for 30+ years, has long been known in central and northern New Jersey for her work in the field of geriatric care management.
“Individuals and families who are caring for a loved one face many challenges,” Trish wrote recently. “I look forward to sharing my professional expertise and my personal experience as well as answering questions from this group of dedicated caregivers.”
The Caregivers Coalition works to ensure that all unpaid family caregivers have access to the resources, services, education, and other support needed to sustain them as caregivers. The Coalition’s monthly meetings feature expert presenters who share their knowledge with the family caregivers and service providers who attend.
“We are very pleased to have Trish Colucci present at our September 14th meeting,” said United Way’s Health Area Director Carol DeGraw. “We value her expertise in the areas of aging and disabilities; we treasure her compassion for caregivers and their families.”
Caregivers Coalition meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center. Members begin to gather at 9:00 am to enjoy coffee and visiting time. Everyone with an interest in caregiving is welcome to attend.
