ShopRite of Northvale NJ September Cholesterol Education Events

September, which is National Cholesterol Education Month, is a good time to learn about food and lifestyle choices that help people of all ages – from seniors to young Americans and children – prevent or manage high cholesterol.
Throughout this month, ShopRite of Northvale, an Inserra Supermarkets store, will host a wellness series led by Samantha Pappas, R.D., in-store registered dietitian.
The following free events are being held for local residents. All programs are open to the public, held at ShopRite of Northvale and do not require advance registration unless otherwise noted:
Tuesday, September 23, 2014: Free Cholesterol Screening, 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. Knowing your numbers is a great first step toward preventing or controlling heart disease. Learn some heart-healthy habits too.
Wednesday, September 24: LiveRight with ShopRite Kids’ Day, 5:00 pm-6:00 pm. Youngsters can create and try new things while preparing a simple, healthy snack. Recipe cards will be distributed to all participants. Pre-registration is required.
Friday, September 26: Right for Tonight Dinner Demo, 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Taste and see how to cook up a healthy dish. Recipe cards will be available.

Tuesday, September 30: Produce Pick
, 10:00 am-2:00 pm. This month’s produce pick will be the “star” of a new dish prepared by the dietitian. Stop by for a sample and recipe.

Tuesday, September 30: Heart-Healthy Store Tour
, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. This dietitian-guided tour will highlight heart-healthy in-store products. Heart-healthy recipes also will be provided. Pre-registration is required.
