My mom has sacrificed so much for her children and family and friends. She helps anyone who needs it. She’s been in pain more than half my life, yet she made sure we had everything we needed but went without herself. If anyone deserves their dream to come true it’s her. So wrote Shelly Cesario about her mother Carol Cesario, who has stage 4 lung cancer, and which we reported about a month ago. Unfortunately, what with Bon Jovi gearing up for their forthcoming album This House Is Not For Sale (including a trip to Cuba and benefit performances in New York City) the odds of Jon being available weren’t in her favor.
Nonetheless, Carol must have had a clue when she was transported from her home in eastern Pennsylvania to his Soul Kitchen restaurant in Tom’s River, where you pay for your meals with either a minimum donation or hours of volunteer work. According the the family’s Facebook page, Jon presented her with an autographed guitar, and with the help of a pair of earbuds, got a super exclusive preview of one the new album’s songs!
He invited our family to his restaurant for dinner and surprised her. He spent almost 2 hours hanging out with her and just chatting with my family. We wanted to thank everyone who shared her picture and got the word out to Jon. Especially Andrew Wendowski — what you did for our family is amazing and we are so grateful. This has been one of the best days of our family’s life. Seeing my mom this happy filled me with so much joy. I still cannot believe this happened. Jon is a amazing human. We appreciate everything he did for our mom and for our family today!
