Next Media Group is proud to announce the launch of The NextDDS Student Ambassador Scholarship Program with support from sponsoring partners Aspen Dental Management, Inc. (ADMI) and Hu-Friedy Mfg. Co., LLC.
Next Media Group provides adjunct training for dental students and new practitioners through their website, providing U.S. dental students with 24/7 access to peer-reviewed instructional resources and self-assessment tools that are intended to increase their knowledge base and facilitate self-directed learning.
Aspen Dental Management, Inc. is a dental support organization that provides non-clinical business support services to more than 550 independently owned and operated dental practices in 33 states. This can include services and recommendations related to finding the right location, leasing, equipment, accounting and marketing. This model leaves independent, licensed practitioners free to concentrate on patient care.
Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company, LLC helps dental professionals perform at their best by producing dental instruments and products designed to function as an extension of each practitioner’s particular skill.
The NextDDS Student Ambassador Scholarship Program will establish a national leadership network of future dental professionals and foster an academic exchange on topics such as expanding access to care, digital technology, and oral wellness. The program fosters coalition and connectivity between student leaders in each of the 66 dental schools across the U.S., supporting them at the critical time of their transition from dental student to dental professional.
The NextDDS Student Ambassador Scholarship Program allows participants to exchange with peers and to share valuable insights into their interests, perceptions, and goals in dentistry with one another. Program sponsors ADMI and Hu-Friedy will provide the necessary resources to fund scholarships awarded to each Student Ambassador of THE NEXTDDS.
“Hu-Friedy has a long and distinguished history of prioritizing education and supporting dental students and their universities,” said Ken Serota, President of Hu-Friedy Mfg. Co., LLC. “We applaud The NextDDS Student Ambassadors for their leadership and commitment to helping to build the bridge from student to practitioner.”
This peer network will help serve as a conduit for information sharing among dental students. It will be a catalyst for expanding the dialogue regarding today’s issues (e.g., employment, specialty training, the practice setting) most relevant to the practice of dentistry.
“Our job at Aspen Dental Management is to support the people who care for the patients,” said John Murphy, Director of Talent Acquisition. “We’re excited to team up with our friends at Hu-Friedy and The NextDDS to extend that support to future leaders in the profession through this unique scholarship program.”
